art forum COMMUNITY: David Hansen

David Hansen visited Venice in April for the Vernissage of the 2015 Venice Biennale. In this art forum travelogue, he looks at the city and its monuments and at the Biennale and its satellites. In particular, he considers Okwui Enwezor’s ‘All the world’s futures’, the Biennale’s curated exhibition, Danh Vo’s ‘Slip of the Tongue’ at the Punta della Dogana and Axel Vervoordt’s ‘Proportio’ at the Palazzo Fortuny. He also visits a number of the national pavilions in the Giardini and describes Fiona Hall’s installation ‘Wrong way time’ at the new Denton Corker Marshall-designed Australian Pavilion. Dr David Hansen is Associate Professor at the School of Art’s Centre for Art History and Art Theory. He has published several essays on the work of Fiona Hall, including ‘The Folding Stuff’, in the catalogue of the Biennale show.
